Writing the Land

See the land around us with new eyes, as some of Alberta’s finest poets explore the magnificent and diverse landscape of our province, and how we interact with it. From the tar sands in the north, to the towering Rockies, to the grasslands of the south – not to mention the rich farmland, prairies, boreal forests, coulees and wandering rivers in-between – this land and its resources have shaped and continue to influence the history, culture, and economy of Alberta.

This month, blue skies poetry will feature work by a different Alberta poet each day, as we “write the land.” Collected in celebration of the theme chosen for the upcoming 2007 Conference and AGM of Writers Guild of Alberta, these poems will lodge inside your soul.

A printed anthology will be launched at the conference and will be available for sale throughout the weekend and on this website shortly afterward. Watch this space for more details.

In the meantime, enjoy!
