my quiet heart

my quiet heart
rattles and shakes around,
smashes up against my
ribs and
awakens vestigial organs.
it breaths and dances
and rushes;
pounds against my skin.
yet i keep it
within me,
stifle its cries
and act as though
it were quiet,
