rhyming with water

rhymes around us
not heroic, but acrostic vowel sounds
lapping and release

holding you in my arms at night
in sighs and love, as the diphthong in
sail

a heavy-rusted-chain
absolutely anchored in

the seabed

tightening kerning before we sleep
interlocking fingers, diving
deeper
